Live patch du 10/12/2025: Piece of Mind

On Tuesday December 9th we will be taking down the live shards for the deployment of Update 25.2: Piece of Mind! This update contains a light rework of the Sorcerer school, as well as the long awaited Priceless Armor for bipeds, among a whole slew of other things.
But before all that, as is tradition the Winter Double Experience period in celebration of Istaria becoming another year older will be upon us again, this year from December 16th till January 6th. Now, on to the patch notes!

Highlights

- Sorcerer adventure school light rework, and a series of School Quests starting at level 15 all the way up to level 95.
- Priceless Armor, and a small quest series explaining the origin and function of this new discovery.

Full Notes

Sorcerer

Sorcerer is a school with a focus on mind manipulating magic, but aside from some ability flavor text and a handful of things related to stunning and mesmerizing, we felt that this didn't reflect well within the school itself.
With this revamp we're introducing some new mechanics to give Sorcerers some truly mind bending capabilities, making it possible to control monsters to fight for them. These controlled monsters cannot be healed but abilities have been introduced which can buff the minions to pack a bigger punch, take a larger beating, and more!

New Abilities:

- Puppeteer abilities allow players to take control of monsters of their respective tier. Not all monsters can be controlled like named monsters, group leaders, epic monsters and more. These abilities are first obtained at level 7 and then every 20 levels.
- Puppet abilities convert controlled monster damage to a specific type. These abilities are first obtained at level 10 and then every 20 levels.
- Devious Pawn abilities lower a controlled monster's health but raise its outgoing damage. It is first obtained at level 13 and then every 20 levels.
- Expendable Bait abilities raise a controlled monster's defense and causes them to generate threat over time to lure in attacks from other monsters as a decoy, but lower its outgoing damage. It is first obtained at level 16 and then every 20 levels.
- Final Gambit abilities give a controlled monster a buff that lets it use a unique ability (when its health is low enough) in which it sacrifices the remainder of its health to unleash a devastating but inaccurate attack on the target. Be aware that the monster retains this ability so long as the buff is on it, whether it is still under player control or not. This ability is gained at level 20 and then every 20 levels.

Revamped Abilities:

- Awareness (I through V) is now obtained at level 19, and every 20 levels afterwards.
- Blur (I through V) is now obtained at level 6, and every 20 levels afterwards.
- Coordinated Mind Bolt (I through X) is now obtained at level 9, and every 10 levels afterwards.
- Disconcert now comes in 3 levels, obtained at levels 28, 58, and 88, and its augmentation now decreases Magical Alacrity.
- The Enthralling Light augmentation, Enthralled, now also increases the incoming mind damage by 150%.
- Manifested Power (I through V) abilities are now obtained at level 4, and every 20 levels afterwards, deal more damage, and have a higher chance to mesmerize the target.
- Mind Bullets (I through X) is now obtained at level 1, and every 10 levels after that. They deal more damage, give an augmentation on hit and are more powerful in Combat Stance: Offensive.
- Spellbind I through V:
*Now obtained at level 2, and every 20 levels afterwards.
*The Spellbound augmentations now require one more hit per tier to be removed.

Spells:

- A new damaging mind spell has been added, Psionic Beam, similar to Energy Strike.
- Beginner and Journeyman formulae for Psionic Beam have been added to Spellcrafter trainers, the Expert formula has been added to tier 5 treasure tables and Formulatrons.

Priceless Armor

With Content Update 25.1 we implemented the first part of our Priceless Armor project, where we looked at existing formulae for repaired weapons, jewelry and scales to make some room for the new additions needed for Priceless Armor. Now we're bringing you the real meat of this project.
A new tier of armor, Priceless Armor, can now be crafted in a similar fashion to repaired weapons and scales. Rather than the usual two variants across four weights of armor (e.g. cloth and padded cloth for textiles), only the stronger variant is available to be repaired. This leaves Priceless Steelsilk Padded, Radiant Leather, Adamantium Chainmail, and Adamantium Platemail armor to craft. These pieces of armor can take a unique socket, known as a Talisman Socket, to further enhance your abilities through socketed Ancient Talismans.

Related Changes:

- Repaired Priceless Armor has been added to the game for use by all biped classes.
*Priceless Padded, Leather, Chainmail, and Platemail armor is available.
*Lighter weights offer more health, while heavier weights offer more armor.
*Each armor piece can take up to three techniques.
*The armor requires a minimum of Adventure Rating 111 and an appropriate school to wear.
- Five new broken items have been added to the loot tables:
*Singed Ancient Accessory
*Scorched Ancient Headwear
*Charred Ancient Bodywear
*Blackened Ancient Garment
*Steelsilk Cloth Fragment Developer Note: out of these five new items, Orjal will only sell the Steelsilk Cloth Fragments for now.
- Radiant Leather Bands have had their drop rate increased to match other repair materials as they now have more broad use.
- Master Padded, Leather, Chainmail, and Platemail Armor Repair may be used to combine broken items and relevant repair resources into finished armor.
*Belts, Gloves / Gauntlets, and Wristbands / Bracers may be repaired using Singed Ancient Accessories.
*Boots, Shoulderpads, and Sleeves / Armguards may be repaired using Blackened Ancient Garments.
*Caps / Helms and Masks may be repaired using Scorched Ancient Headwear.
*Tunics / Chestguards and Leggings / Greaves / Skilts may be repaired using Charred Ancient Bodywear.
*Each weight requires a different repair resource. Padded Armor requires the new Steelsilk Cloth Fragments, Leather requires Radiant Leather Bands, Chainmail requires Adamantium Metal Nuggets, and Platemail requires Adamantium Metal Chunks.
- Priceless Armor may be socketed using Talisman Socketing, a new socket type that may be drag-and-dropped or applied at creation like other sockets. Only one may be applied per piece of armor.
*On creation, this requires 4 Radiant Essence Orbs and 8 Adamantium Metal Bars to apply.
*Adding on creation will not increase the skill required to craft the armor.
- Ancient Talismans and their respective formulae have been added to the game. These are unique crafted socketable crystals that may only be used with repaired priceless armor, providing a boost to a specific skill and strength/dexterity or power/focus.
*All talismans need to be crafted from Talisman Vessels of Might or Magic, tier six technique components, and radiant essence orbs using the Spellcrafting skill.
*Talisman Vessels are crafted using Ruby or Sapphire alongside Unfocused Violet Azulyte using the Jewelcrafting skill.
- New technique components for tier six have been added.
*Ul'zilgat Broodmasters, Defilers and Flayers now drop Ul'zilgat Fyakki Abdomen.
*Roaming Fragments, Surtheim, Diminished Surtheim, and its Surtheim Fragments now drop Fire Elemental Splinters alongside their trophy.
*Travertine Boulder Golems now drop Travertine Boulder Golem Fragments.
*Vile Maggots and Engorged Vile Maggots now drop Vile Maggot Entrails.
*Death Hounds and the Dark Stalker now drop Death Hound Fangs.

New Content:

To learn how to work with these new pieces of equipment players will have to follow the story of Yeroth, a young Satyr, who has shown a particular interest in broken equipment and its history.
Note: Yeroth offers both a questline in New Trismus that functions as a tutorial to broken items, and also at the Eastern Outpost for the Priceless Armor and Talismans, the former questline has to be completed to begin the latter.
