FESTIVAL OF THE BRAVE

Istarians awake to fliers tacked to every tree, post, and wall that anything between a dryad and a half-giant could reach - and a few higher, where dragons pitched in. Across the top reads large, bold letters in neat script: "FESTIVAL OF THE BRAVE"

----------------

Last year, in December 2023, Istaria celebrated its 20th trip around the sun - two whole decades of the Gifted! Due to our update schedule and the intense combat overhaul, we were unable to put on the celebration we wanted to. This year, on the 21st Anniversary of Istaria, we are moving the clocks forward in-game one year to allow us to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Empire of Istaria, known as the Festival of the Brave.

The Festival

- The Festival celebrates the bravery of the Gifted who, by putting themselves on the frontline every day, protect the collective Living Races' world.
- From December 17th, 2024 to January 7th, 2025, we will be running multiple events that reward Imperial Platinum Coins and Event Tokens. These events may be attended by all levels and are built to be accessible, similar to the 15th Anniversary events of 2018. A timetable of scheduled events will be posted before the festival begins.
- Alas, even when celebrating, the Empire is never safe. The Gifted are always present on the front, pushing back the Aegis threat. To help morale, the Empire has authorized two unique concurrent activities.

Pilfering of Imperial Supplies

- Over the decades of war, the Aegis have often stolen Imperial supplies to support their own armies and harm the Imperial one. In normal circumstances, the Empire requires the safe return of these supplies - but an exception has been made. Temporarily, you may loot and personally pilfer the contents of Recovered Imperial Supplies.
- Occasionally, you may find these supplies when fighting Aegis-aligned enemies. They may be looted from Undead, Aegis Construct, and Aegis Animate classed enemies that spawn anywhere in the world. This is in addition to their normal loot.
- The second comes from finding and gathering Stolen Imperial Caches, a unique resource gathered with Ingenuity. These may spawn in most places of the world, namely:

Tier 1: Genevia, New Trismus, Lesser Aradoth
Tier 2: Dalimond Peninsula, Abandoned Island, Scorpion Island
Tier 3: Barasavian Desert, Feladan Forest, Aughundell Mines, Mahagra Tundra
Tier 4: Feladan Forest, Aughundell Mines, Kirasanct Tundra, Char, Western Deadlands, The Long Walk
Tier 5: Aradoth (Outskirts of Harro, Delgarath, and Mithril's Anvil), Spiritous Swamp, Satyr Isles, Frozen Wastes
Tier 6: Eastern Deadlands, Dralnok's Doom, Eastern Frontline (edge of the Eastern Deadlands)

- Imperial Supplies may contain blighted items and formulas, random tiered trophies, random tiered components, random tiered hoard, a Greater Event Token, or a smattering of Imperial Platinum Coins. Higher tier enemies offer a higher chance of dropping the supplies. You must be the minimum level of the associated tier to identify the supplies. They are attuned, but their contents are not.
- Unused supplies will vanish one week past the conclusion of the event. They are personal loot.

Aegis Slaying Competition

- On top of the pilfering of supplies, the Empire is hosting the first competition ever across all borders - an Aegis slaying competition.
- For each Aegis you slay, you will receive an Imperial Mark. This is an attuned, valueless piece of currency that cannot be used to purchase anything - instead, it is used to count the amount of Aegis you slay during the event duration.
- A Tier 1 Aegis will award a Lesser Imperial Mark, while a Tier 6 awards a Superior Imperial Mark. Lower-tier marks award less points than higher-tier ones; the amount of points coincide with tier.
- The top three Gifted with the highest number of points on a single character will be awarded as follows:

First Place

Unique Title: the Empire's Illustrious Sword (Biped), the Empire's Illustrious Claws (Dragon)
One per character on account
4000 Platinum Coins
12 Loyalty Tokens
Ability to concept and name a new title*

Second Place

Unique Title: the Empire's Illustrious Sword (Biped), the Empire's Illustrious Claws (Dragon)
One per character on account
3000 Platinum Coins
8 Loyalty Tokens

Third Place

Unique Title: the Empire's Illustrious Sword (Biped), the Empire's Illustrious Claws (Dragon)
One per character on account
2000 Platinum Coins
4 Loyalty Tokens

*The new title will not be unique to your character, but instead be made available to all players at a later date through a quest, dialogue, or other in-game avenue. Your creation will be forever a part of the game and credited to you in its description as a winner of this event.
While the wording and concept behind your title will influence the later placement, we cannot guarantee it will end up exactly how and where you may want it. We will do our best to respect your creative vision.

Rules and Procedures

- Points will be calculated based off of the highest scoring character per account.
*Accounts known to be owned by the same person will be treated as one account.
*Accounts shared between different players during the event duration will be treated as one account. Correction: Accounts shared between different individuals in the same household during the event duration will be treated as one account. Separate households are not allowed to account share as designated by our EULA.
*Intentionally attempting to skirt the rule will result in your disqualification for poor sportsmanship.
- Substantiated reports of griefing by individuals or guilds will disqualify the person or guild from the rankings. Play fair and be courteous; these are personal loot and working together can only help you.
*Griefing would mean blocking others from accessing spawns, stealing kills to prevent loot, and similar actions of poor sportsmanship.
- Utilization of any in-game or third-party macro or automation software is against the spirit of this event and our EULA - doing so may result in action against your account as well as disqualification from the event.
- A full high scores list will be posted following the conclusion of the event by name of highest-rated character. If you wish to be excluded from this or the event as a whole, contact us on the support website .

- Burning Archer: 11 now properly refers to the items you have gathered as Yew Treant Sapling Limbs and not Knots in the quest feedback.
